(Ms. Archie + Those Shorts = Bad 90's Idea)
This webpage may not win an award for technical complexity, however...your mother might make a mean face at you if she looks here and finds out that you told a little fib about having no homework.
That is me not making a mean face when I was in the 7th grade. I have been standing up at the front of the classroom for a loooooong time...stripes and everything!
(Lawnmower + Blindfold = That Haircut)
Yes, once upon a time Ms. Archie had short hair. This is a picture of me in the 6th grade. I went to Wedgwood Middle School in Fort Worth, Texas. Anyway...great school...not so great picture.
(That Haircut + One Year = Better Haircut)
Well, maybe not that much better. This is a picture of me when I was in the 7th grade. I was just beginning to really dislike math in school.
Did you ever think we would have that in common? It took years for me to begin to like math. I was always more of a language oriented individual. I loved to read and write. I still do.
(Future Haircuts - Lawnmower = Better Idea)
Don't think I have forgotten what it was like to be in middle school. These pictures won't let me forget.
I was on my way to 8th grade English when this picture was taken. The guy behind me was on his way there too. I loved that class, but the guy behind me...was so mean! You can only see one of his eyes and half of his glasses in this picture, but I promise that is the meanest one eye, and half a pair of glasses you'll ever see. His last name started with an "A" so I had the joy of sitting right next to him. Doesn't everybody just love alphabetical order?
I remember things like that from the past, but none of those little things ever really matter when it is all said and done.
In your future, what will matter about middle school is how much you focus on learning discipline and practicing good habits. You will change so much throughout this year, and throughout the years to come, but the foundation of your academic experience is being built right now.
I look forward to helping you get to work on all the necessary construction!
